From a local history book: "...It is the oldest residence in Upper Clyde. Teller County records show the log home as being on the tax rolls in 1920. A spacious kitchen, four upstairs bedrooms, and a large front porch made for comfortable rocking chairs are some of the highlights of the cabin. Even as late as the 1970s, people would stop there, seeing the American flag flying, hoping to buy fishing licenses a the former Pike National Forest headquarters."
